About us
History of the Festival
Our festival aims to preserve, enhance, and celebrate Kincardine’s Scottish roots. Enjoy three days and nights of lively music, exciting competitions, cultural workshops, and friendly small town hospitality. Cheer on your favourite, Highland athletes and dancers, trace out your ancestry, and enjoy the sights and sounds of over 30 Scottish pipe bands from across Canada and the United States.
Located in Victoria Park and surrounding area, our festival is in the heart of Kincardine and we encourage you to experience the beauty and hospitality our town has to offer during your visit.
This year we celebrate our 25th anniversary and this year, more than ever, we're proud to have welcomed thousands of visitors from all over North America to the beautiful lakeside town of Kincardine to join us in celebrating all things Scottish.
We pride ourselves in honouring the traditions and contributions of Scottish culture within the Canadian multicultural mosaic. We look forward to seeing you at our next Kincardine Scottish Festival & Highland Games!
We are proud to work with and receive support from the following community groups:
Meet Our Board of Directors
Festival Executive The Kincardine Scottish Festival & Highland Games relies on the generous donation of time, skill, and passion from over 300 volunteers. Our Executive is a team of dedicated volunteers who, together with the support of our Event Manager, organize the Festival throughout the year to bring the best experience possible for our visitors. If you see one of the Director's during the Festival, please feel free to stop them and say hello!
All board members care about the safety of its participants and patrons. As such we have all read and signed the Code of Conduct for which the Kincardine Scottish Festival & Highland Games are proud to abide by.
Accountability
The Kincardine Scottish Festival & Highland Games is a not-for-profit incorporated organization run by the above volunteer Board elected by our members. All proceeds are turned back into the operation of the Festival. The Festival has one part-time paid staff member, the Event Manager, while the remainder of the work is done by volunteers. An Annual Report is available to members upon request.
