What to expect at this year's festival for the wee ones

Great news! We have lots of entertainment everyone beyond the music and folklore. The Scottish Festival makes sure that we activities and fun for the whole family.

We welcome Chuckles the Clown brings us laughter and balloon animals. We challenge you to find an animal he cannot make!

Try your hand at iceless curling.

This is a favourite of the festival that keeps coming back year-after-year. If you have never curled before, or want to just watch the kids have a go at learning this originally Scottish, but now beloved Canadian sport, it's great fun.

Safety Axe Throwing

Don't worry, this is a child-friendly axe throwing activity that doesn't use real axes with sharp metal blades. The axes are designed to work for children, so they are made out of foam and shaped to look like the real thing. Test your accuracy and challenge your friends!

Live Knights battle!

Don't miss our knights in full contact combat demos throughout the day. Get combat instructions from our knights on how to do stuff like shield walls and other tactics, history lessons as well as history on the armour. If you're bold enough, challenge our knights to a duel!
